Courtenay-off!

After my harrowing few weeks prior to a design hand-in about three weeks ago, IL and I were looking for a watering hole to grab a celebratory drink at, in the mid-arvo.

The first place we thought of was Plum, but, naturally, I'd already been there today -

oh my god, soup of the day: leek and potato. AMAZING. a really filling hot lunch for &$8.50, and the bread was soo good. Staff were friendly - got a wink.... but only cos I went to high school with him. Aaand my gluten-free colleagues told me Plum do the best fries in town. Which I didn't think was such a judgeable thing til I ate the fries at my place of work. Sigh. Yeah...

- so after halfheartedly wandering Malthouse-wards (zzzzzzz) we settled on Sweet Mothers. felt like some sweet hipster and outside heater vibe.

Its funny, whenever we go there theres always a couple of our fellow Craftsman staff wandering in and out of that shithouse establishment... checking ashtrays, sweeping up litter thats blown under the outdoor tables, wondering where the crap all the customers are, looking embarrassed that Sweet Mothers is humming every time of day..... and we're just sitting there, blatantly giving business to the competition. Well, 'competition' is being polite. its such a shame that the Crafty's in the most prime location but has ruined it by being too..... absolutely nothing.

Managements latest hairbrained scheme is to serve POPCORN with drinks ... only after 5pm and in a latte bowl FLATTENED off (never waste money by piling the popcorn above the rim!!).
